Who Is Comic Energy? Comic Energy is Philly's first exclusive sketch comedy troupe, founded in 1999 by James Daly. The troupe has been active since their stage debut in January of 2000. Producing over 1,000 sketches over 12 years the troupe has been very busy. Started in South Philadelphia the troupe has since expanded and currently travels and performs all over the east coast. The troupe is currently in production to film a television pilot for an array of different networks at WHYY studio in June. The current cast consists of old faces and new faces who have been performing with Comic Energy throughout its tenure. The majority of the material is written by Daly and Walter Threadgill.
